Just Wanted To Make Sure
« on: December 08, 2011, 05:48:58 PM »
Hi: Sorry to be a pest, but I have another question...Do I understand correctly that:

Even though I have loaded in the 19m Mesh for FS2004, I should still go back and load in the older 38m Mesh also?
And; I am assuming that the program will choose the best mesh to display without me having to do anything?

Thanks again for all of your hard work and a great product...

Steve

HI Steve,

Yes, for best results in FS2004 you should have all resolutions installed.  The lower resolutions will improve the more distant terrain. and the terrain engine will sort it all out properly.

The higher the resolution the shorter the visual distance.  This is hard-coded into the terrain engine for performance purposes, so having all resolution installed will ensure a gradual transition out to the horizon without any abrupt resolution boundaries which can cause display oddities.

Thanks
