Question regarding download vs. media formats

I bought version 1 of the FSX Terrain package and am in the process of downloading version 2 and have now noticed that the resolution of the downloaded version will be lesser than the media version. I'm a bit confused with the pricing. I would like to know specifically how much it will cost me to obtain the DVDs containing the upgrade.

Depending on the answer I may have a follow up question that I will ask you, Justin, in private.

Hi Rich,

The World DVD will be the same price as V1 ($5.00).  The North America DVDs will increase from $10 for the 3-DVD set to $25.00 for the V2 5-DVD set.  You can knock $10 off that price by using the V2UPGRADE coupon at checkout this weekend.

The horizontal resolution for both V1 and V2 remains at 9.6m.  The vertical resolution of V1 was/is 1m.  The vertical resolution of the download version is twice that of V1 at .5m.  The vertical resolution of the media version is four times that of V1 at .25m.

I got your Email promo today for $10 coupon for the media V2.(for this weekend only). The above string explains my exact question, but...

 ???My email shows the coupon box but no number inside.
 ???Also I don't seem to see a spot on your site where I can order the Media V2 Disks.

HI Ken,

Not sure I'm following you.  Number? What do you mean by number? Inside of what?  Please clarify and I'm sure I can answer your question.  You enter the coupon code V2UPGRADE on the second checkout screen, the same screen where you declare your payment method.

If you're a previous user of V1 you can log into your FSG Store account and go to the North America for FSX product page and look under Related Products.  I also just added it to the bottom of the downloads pagefor convenience.

And, yes, the coupon will give you $10 off through the weekend.

It was just that the email I received had no coupon code on it, as you indicated (just a red blank box).
I will go into that area of the store and try the code you gave.

After we "download" V2 first, will we then be able to install the Media V2 disks right over it (after we get it mailed to us from FSG)?

So I just went there Justin and it will not let me order just the DVD's V2. Even though I click on the button= "($25.00) Do not ship V1 DVDs. Ship V2 DVDs when completed", the checkout defaults to the entire bundle package and totals over $46.95. ??

Are you adding DVD-NADEM-X to your cart? Or are you adding SP1BDL to your cart?  Either way, it should work.

When you say it "will not let you" what exactly is happening?  Any messages?

I only check the last box for DVD shipment V2. It seems that it opens with a default of "1" Download Version in Basket?  And charges me for the Bundle (again) and the DVD set I checked?

You enter the coupon on the next screen, the one where you declare your payment method, then clicking Next will show you the coupon discount.

Alternatively, if you have already purchased the NADEM-X, you don't have to purchase it again.  Just look under Related Products for DVD-NADEM-X and add that to your cartinstead,and checkout.

Ok Justin...I think I found it.
Had to dig a little and go into the "Newest Products" door. Scrolled down to Noth American Terrain Mesh for FSX Nadem X, then went to the DL / 5-DVD set. Same order form as I was previously in, but this one does not have that "error" default on it (both my computers confirmed this error yesterday and today).

Justin, I got it now, but this was definately the "back-door".
Perhaps check the Main Store front pages for easier access during this special weekend limited time offer.

I was wrong!!!!!

Same darn thing!

Your site keeps adding on total cost for the BUNDLE even though I click on only the DVD's.
I CANNOT ORDER JUST THE DVD'S stand-alone. Something is wrong there Justin, trust me!

I already have version 1.  I want to just order V2 Disks when ready.
I want to take advantage of your weekend special.
Again...it charges me for the whole bundle (ok less your 10 buck coupon, so it comes to $36.95 and should be $15? I will not approve such a transaction on my charge card.

Please HOLD this special offer for me Justin, until we can figure out why I cannot order the DVD on-line.

Perhaps I should do this by phone?

Hi Ken,

So remove the FSX Bundle from your cart by clicking your Basket button along the top.  You've already bought the Bundle, I presume, so you don't need to add it to your cart and buy it again (unless you want to) :-). 

Just add DVD-NADEM-X and DVD-WRDEM-X (from Related Products) to your cart and checkout.

Hi Justin,
Using UTXUSA and FSG LC. Billings MT looked good with version one mesh but after installing version 2, there are houses and buildings floating aroung the airport during final approach and after landing

Are they floating when you go there using "Go to Airport"?  Did you install over your previous files (overwrite) or did you install to another location than V1 files were?
