Bailout FSX FullBundle Version Question
« on: September 26, 2008, 12:52:12 PM »
Greetings... I have a complete set of V1.0 FSX DVD's from a few years ago. I received the BAILOUT email and was considering buying the full set of FSX for a great price of $36. Are all of the DVD's in this BAILOUT bundle V2? Which V1 DVD's would I be rebuying if I bought the bundle? Thanks!

Hi,

At the moment the 4-DVD US and Mexico V2 are available now.  Alaska-Hawaii V2 will be available probably by the end of October (Hawaii will be downloadable next weekend.)  Canada and World V2 will follow, I hope, before the end of the year.

Hope this helps

Justin... thank you for the quick reply.

I have not yet installed FSX. Just finished building a higher end computer and will SLOWLY migrate to Vista and FSX over time.

If I understand correctly I can buy V2 of the US terrain mesh, which is a 4 set DVD for $50 (less with current discount) and simply use them rather than the 2 DVD's V1 East and West US I have now. I should install Canada and Mexico V1 (if I don't buy Mexico V2 now) along with World Terrain Mesh V1 and I'm good to go for the time being.

Alaska is V 1.1 at the store... but where is it on the old V1 4 DVD set, if at all? Being it's my backyard??

Thanks again... I really am going to place an order today!   :)

Hi,

Yes, that's correct.  You can install the new V2 US files over your old V1 install.

V1 Alaska was included in the V1 US West, I believe.  A few months back I split North America into four separate products ebcause it was too big and unwieldy.  There are now 4-DVD US, Canada DVD, Mexico CD, and Alaska-Hawaii CD covering North America.

Hope this helps

Hi Justin,

I have received the US-4 dvd set, but, nothing else.

Is there a back-up on shipments?

Regards,
Paul S.

HI Paul,

You should have the latest available versions of everything but V2 Mexico, which as shipping at the rate of 5-15 a day, generally in the order recieved.  Yeah, there's a backlog.  :-)  Meanwhile, you can log into your FSG Store account and click My FSX Downloads to downlod the 600 or so Mb file if you wish while awaiting the CD.

Thanks
