V2 question
« on: November 22, 2008, 03:06:20 PM »
Hi Justin,
I have a few questions about the v2.
I have purchase a bundle pack wich included fsx basic versions as for 1.1 for us canada and mexico i guess...
World being in 1.2.
I've read on the site that most of the mesh sceneries have been upgraded to v2 solving the 'plateau' bug.
I've downloaded the upgrades available purchased the cd version of mexico.
But i'm getting a bit lost here.
Downloads versions are a bit of less quality than cd versions.
As there was a bug with the version 1 am i entitled to get version 2 at a discount price or do i have to buy all the dvd's again a the normal price in order to have the latest version with the standard quality.

Understand me,i'm not complaining about anything ,i'm just hardly trying to find my way through.
My wish is to get all of my mesh files (worldwide) without the plateau bug.
So if you can enlighten me of what should i get.
I am also conscient of the personal  dificulties you are encountering at the moment and i do not wish to add to your existential problems,i don't mind helping your business so it is not a money related request, but more like what should i do or get to make sure that ,if i buy a new set of cd's,i will get the latest releases with standard quality.

Thx for your patience reading my mesage and also for the constant quality of your products. ;)

Didier

HI Didier

The US, Mexico V2 are complete,  Hawaii is almost complete, then I will work on Alaska, then Canada, then the World.

Download updates are free.  Updated media is generally $5 per DVD/CD, shipping included.

The US is the only area where the downloads are compiled with a slightly high compression ratio.  All other areas are identical download/media.

To obtain the downloads simply log into your FSG Store account and click My FSX Downloads.

When you reorder media hvaing been preciously shipped media, it is assumed that you want updated media, so those orders go in the queue awaiting shipment until ththat V2 area is completed.

Hope this helps

Well, how goes it? Am just getting myself back online at home after a 7 month absense. Incredibly, virtually all appears as it was, both here in the FSG forums as well as your storefront. You okay, Justin? Some news sure would be nice. Thought for sure that your V2 mesh/airport projects may be done, though clearly they are not. This is a support & service set of forums, are they not?

Another Legacy Galaxy member who has given much,

HI David,

Yes, the whole operation has been in crisis/struggle mode for several months.  Sales have eroded to the point where FSG has not provided sufficient income by itself to make ends meet (for the first time in ten years) and keep a roof over everyone's heads.  This has resulted in a great slowdown in production, which in turn sets up a catch-22--little production, no new products or updates, which in turn further erodes sales.  I suppose some advertising would help, but as sales slide, advertising budget shrinks, and so on.

That said, I will soon have a second income coming into the household, as well as cutting expenses to the bare bone and these things should get things back into the black, allowing me to ramp up production again before the end of this month.

So, we hope the worst is behind us and we can now see a glimmer of light at the end of this dark tunnel.

You, and everyone's, patience is appreciated . . .
