FS9 blurries
« on: February 14, 2010, 12:23:48 PM »
Hi Guys,

Just interested in what FS9 .cfg settings people are using to get the best out of FS9.

I think it goes without saying that the any "distance scenery" looks blurred in FS9, which I attribute to the autogen.

Has anyone had any luck in getting clearer textures at a greater distance?

Wombat.

PS: I have the world mesh in 73mtr installed along with the US Nat Landclass.

My basic .cfg settings are as follows:

[DISPLAY]
UPPER_FRAMERATE_LIMIT=40
TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=120
[TERRAIN]
TERRAIN_ERROR_FACTOR=100.000000
TERRAIN_MIN_DEM_AREA=10.000000
TERRAIN_MAX_DEM_AREA=100.000000
TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL=20
TERRAIN_TEXTURE_SIZE_EXP=8
TERRAIN_AUTOGEN_DENSITY=5
TERRAIN_USE_GRADIENT_MAP=1
TERRAIN_EXTENDED_TEXTURES=1
TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=9.5000000
TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=3.900000
TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=4
[SCENERY]
IMAGE_COMPLEXITY=5
DYNAMIC_SCENERY=1
DYN_SCN_DENSITY=5
DAWN_DUSK_SMOOTHING=1
SUNGLARE=1
LENSFLARE=0

HI Wombat,

Search the archives for lots of good info.  For instance, here:

There are lots more.

Hi Justin,

Thank you for the link, it was informative (if now a little confusing toward the end for a novice) and I have made the relevant changes which, together with your mesh's,  have improved the look of FS9 a great deal.

Cheers,

Wombat

HI,

I had to shut down the portal.fsgenesis.net site temporarily due to some sort of robot attack.  I'll get it back up shortly.
