HI,
I started developing in 1996, and FSG started in 1998. Not folding up the tent, just being forced to not spend so much time in the tent, and more time doing/looking for other income-generating activities.
The terrain mesh market appears to have dried up, so I had intended to move more into airport-related endeavors, such as ATAPs. But so far the response to the ATAPs has been tepid at best, and they take quite a while to develop, so not sure that alone can sustain itself in full-time development, at least until they reach some sort of critical mass. Unfortunately, the double-whammy of sales falling 50% and the expensive custody action from 2008, has left me with little reserve, hardly any working capital, and the need to pay the bills and support my children by some means beyond what FSG has been generating lately.
So, not going away, just reassessing direction and business model while trying to keep my head above water. All orders will continue to be fulfilled, the web site will remain. Just have to figure out what sort of product line will result in the ability to develop full-time again. Sort of a catch-22 right now.
