FSG FSC Base Ter. Mesh: 10m nominal vs. 9.6m actual
« on: August 23, 2010, 11:50:57 PM »
This is probably a silly question, but here goes anyway:  FSG's US Base Terrain Mesh for FSX is 10m nominally, yet it is 9.6m actually.  The increments of the FSX Settings slider for Terrain Mesh are ...10m and then 5m.  If I set the slider for 10m, is that in fact a fine enough resolution, or does the actual 9.6m mesh resolution mean that I need to set the slider to the next increment, 5m, in order for it to be effective?  If I set the slider for 10m, is that not the 'cutoff', thus meaning that it will not 'see' or utilize the more-fine FSG 10m nominal mesh because in reality it is actually 9.6m?

Thanks again!

HI,

That's just MS approximating the labeling.  For 9.6m use the 10m setting.  And so on.
