FSG Landclass and UTX Folders
« on: October 06, 2007, 04:19:45 AM »
Hi,

Just installed FSG landclass with UTX and made folder FSGLC like I did for FS9. Should I leave this in Add On folder or move it to Scenery Folder before I place it above the UT Vegetation Folder in Scenery Lib or doesn't it matter ?

Thank-You,
Ted

I think you're fine wherever it is installed as long as it's layered below UTX in Scenery Library.

... to be precise (as UTX is - other than UT for FS9 - layered) it should be right above the UTX "vegetation layer" ...

This is just a recommendation though, one can move it up or down a little and see what works best ... during the UTX beta we thought that right above the vegetation layer should be ok.

When installing the landclass, does it create a folder or do I have to create one and install to it. I want to use the FSG landclass with UTX. Would you please explain how to do this.

The FS Genesis landclass BGL file is just like any scenery BGL type file. It must be in a folder named Scenery. That folder may contain other BGLs or it may just hold the landclass BGL file. This Scenery folder may be anywhere but usually users tend to place them in a logical order within one or more folders. In this case the easiest place is to put a Scenery folder in the FSX Addon folder and then the FS Genesis landclass BGL inside the Scenery folder. Next you tell FSX about this arrangement in the Scenery Library where you Add the FSX/Addon folder. FSX automatically detects the Scenery/BGL folder. Using the FSX Scenery Library window Move Down the Addon folder until it is below UT folders.
